Duties & Responsibilities

·        Undertake work in BIM modelling, 2D design (surface modelling), or 3D design (solid modelling).

·        Create 3D displays of structures or other infrastructure for engineers or clients to take 'virtual tours' or identify clash detection.

·        Use designs to help prepare cost estimates on projects.

·        You will normally work in a small team, with others working on a different part of a project under the guidance of a design engineer.

·        Prepare dimensional drawings, construction drawings and more complex drawings.

·        Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with your team, supervisors and other external parties to ensure consistent documentation of the project.

·        Review plans, specifications and other documentation and maintain notes and other documentation for future reference.

·        Establish filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings.

·        Undertake assignments in the UK and overseas, as directed.

·        Adopt procedures for standardisation of work products and deliverables, and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery of the Company’s technical work product.

·        Adhere to Company procedures in the management, delivery and administration of Services.

·        Embrace organisational change and appropriately modify behaviour and attitudes as required.

·        Have an understanding and awareness of the company values and business plan and your contribution to both.

·        Observe and maintain Company Health and Safety Policy across all activities

·        Undertake other reasonable duties as requested

 

Key Experience & Qualifications

·        Undertaking or completed a Technician level qualification in drafting (e.g. HND/HNC, EngTech).

·        Substantial experience working within design and drafting teams.

·        Some knowledge of Eurocodes and other relevant national and international industry standards and procedures.

·        Competent in:

o   MS Office Programmes

o   AutoCad Suites, including 3D programmes

o   AECOsim

o   Bentley 3D Microstation packages (InRoads, InRail etc).
